Celebrate Earth Day with Eco-Friendly Bubbly
What better way to celebrate Earth Day (April 22), than with a delicious bottle of champagne? Pommery POP Earth champagne utilizes a lighter glass than conventional champagne bottles in order to reduce weight in transport and decrease pollution. Each bottle is also recyclable and does not have a jacket, and the labels utilize recycled paper and use water soluble inks. Pommery supports eco-friendly practices as well, using sea transportation instead of air, which saves on fuel costs and energy usage, and uses transportation boxes made of 10% recycled paper, working with their suppliers to re-use the boxes in production cycles.
Over a decade ago, Pommery became the first champagne house to obtain ISO 9001 (environmental management) certification. Since then, they have been practicing sustainable wine-growing, managing waste and limiting water and energy consumption. Featuring a blend of 70% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay, and 10% Pinot Meunier, POP Earth is a fresh, environmentally-friendly way to celebrate the planet.
