Coquito! Eggnog With a Puerto Rican Accent Makes Big Splash
He got sucked in by Daisy Martinez's adorable screen persona and her vibrantly seasoned recipes. One holiday tradition that was especially intriguing was coquito, a creamy cocktail spiked with rum.
There was just a coquito contest in Brooklyn last weekend, chef Daisy acting as judge and jury. The verdict: So delicious!
I did a bit of research and found out the recipe she used on the show wasn't considered by some as a true coquito because it contained eggs or Egg Beaters. I decided to make it sans eggs and didn't miss them. It reminded me a little Milk Punch, sweet and thick and just a bit boozy. This is sure to become a new holiday tradition in our home.

Eggnog is pretty good, so long as you add enough rum to get rid of that awful eggy taste.

Actually, if you added some eggs and skipped the rum-- then baked it ---that's the exact same recipe for flan
