It's Friday again! Here are a few tasty links the Al Dente editors obsessed about this week:
- Massive mustard taste test with 39 contestants. There are no losers--it's mustard! (Serious Eats)
- Get ready for a rolling food court. Seattle's Mobile Food Chowdown is on Saturday. (Seattle Magazine)
- A Formula 3 race car that runs on chocolate and has a steering wheel made from carrots. (Science Daily)
- Fox News' Shepherd Smith (the sane-ish one) hates Krispy Kreme Bacon Cheeseburgers. (BuzzFeed)
- Is there a better looking breakfast than carne adovada? (Simple Comfort Food)
- Web-tastic cookies--the perfect Halloween treat. (Bake at 350)

It's that time of year to do some serious baking and help a good cause. Check out Rachael Ray's new Oven Lovin' line of bakeware. Some of the proceeds go to her charity, Yum-o!.

It's kind of funny Rachel is selling bakeware when she doesn't bake!

"Fox News' Shepherd Smith (the sane-ish one)--Please!! stick to food!"
Agreed. It's not clever, or funny, or original.
BlogDog on October 10, 2009 at 01:02 PM
Third on GK's comment: Keep on topic.

Seriously, it is bad business to piss off potentially half of your audience with off topic stuff like that. What makes one think he can do that? Do the Fox viewers, or conservatives whom the blogger slights, not cook or buy cooking stuff on Amazon? This one does, or did. I would never be so thoughtless with a guest or customer.
I am not thinned skinned, but just tired of this BS and resolved to point it out when I see it.

Oh goody, another moron who thinks we all will think they are clever if they throw some politics into a non-political subject. EF-off, and good-bye forever.....

"Fox News Channel anchor Shepard Smith was arrested by Florida police in November 2000 and charged with aggravated battery with a motor vehicle after arguing with another reporter over a parking space (both were covering the Bush-Gore Florida vote debacle)."

"sane-ish," huh? It is better to be silent and thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.

Is this blog for food lovers or Fox lovers? Please leave Fox to its own defense.

I'll have one Al Dente and hold the politics, please.

"Is this blog for food lovers or Fox lovers?"
That's as silly a question as "Is this blog for food lovers or Fox haters?"
"Please leave Fox to its own defense."
Please refrain from political cheap shots in food blogs, sports stories, and concert halls. It's just plain tacky, among other things.

Spanno please save your childishly inane cheapshot political comments for the Huffington Post.
