Candy: A Halloween Love Story
I 'fessed up to keeping Junior Mints in my freezer, a habit I picked up, oddly enough, while watching "Julie & Julia" this summer at a theater that sold those movie house staples frozen. It makes the mint even more refreshing. Almost instantly, this silly query prompted all sorts of funny feedback. I heard from folks who have a thing for Butterfinger, Rolos, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and Coffee Crisp. Though, Coffee Crisp doesn't seem exactly low-brow because it is imported. From Canada. I had to laugh when one Twitter buddy in San Francisco said she immediately headed out to the corner store, in search of Junior Mints. There were only York Peppermint Patties. Close, but not what she was suddenly craving. "I'm so suggestible," she Tweeted. The good, sweet fun slopped over to my Facebook page, where another roar of approval for good/bad candy was heard. Candy Corn was a huge hit, especially when paired with peanuts. One comment, though, had me laughing out loud and groaning at the same time. Chef Bill Smith gleefully spilled his guilty pleasure: Those marshmallows shaped like circus peanuts paired with mayo. As the old saying goes, don't knock it until you've tried it. So, I'm officially not knocking it. Anybody think they can top that? Smarties. And I eat the lavender-colored ones first, because I don't like them. I eat the rest of them by color, but in no particular order after I get rid of the lavenders.

Circus peanuts with mayo!?!?! I am intrigued...not necessarily appetized, but intrigued.
Mine, of course, being cheap 7-11 or gas station hot chocolate!

I seem to get a favorite or an obsession.. then eat it till I get sick of it. or find something I like even better.. this started with smarties. Id eat then every night while I read.. pack after pack till my tongue hurt.. lol...then I got onto saltwater taffy.. ummm I have always loved taffy and still do! ( but im not sure if its lowbrow or not) they sell it in bulk at our local grocery store and I go in and pick out all the ones I like.. I don't like the orange,peppermint,and hate the licorice ones.. I'll eat all the other kinds... lol I had to really dig to find my favorites because it was full of the kinds I hated.. now I'm onto red hots... those little tiny red hot candy's.. I have got to stop doing this though.. I wont stop reading but.. lol... I imagine how much less Id weigh if I didn't eat this crap at night while reading!( no Im not 300 lbs but I could stand to lose a few pounds thats for sure) they need to invent something really yummy thats good for you!
Im a sugar alcoholic I guess.. and I have never admitted I do this to anyone before and now the world knows!lol
