Monteillet Fromagerie Comes to the Queen Anne Farmers Market
This beautiful cheese is yet another reason I love to visit Portland Farmers Market on the park blocks at Portland State University. Marinated in olive oil with rosemary, savory, garlic, and pink peppercorns, this round of goat cheese, Monteillet Fromagerie's Provencal, is finished with a drizzle of truffle oil. And owner Pierre-Louis Monteillet will remind you that once the cheese is gone you can use the oil in your next vinaigrette.
But it always seemed a bit unfair that I had to drive all the way to Oregon to buy a cheese from Washington, so I was thrilled to learn that I could find Monteillet Fromagerie's cheeses at Seattle's Farmers Market on Queen Anne Hill. I'm almost giddy now knowing that every Thursday afternoon Monteillet's Provencal, as well as their Pérail and Larzac, will be only a short drive away.
