A Dosacaffe For Your Stovetop Espresso
Thanks to the sinking economy, a stovetop espresso craze seems to be sweeping our highly caffeinated population. You may be turning to the stovetop yourself to cut costs, but if you really love good coffee, you'll be hooked long after the economy brightens. I should know. My husband is a fan from way back.
Some eight years ago we traveled through Italy, staying in apartments along the way. There Van was introduced to the Bialetti Moka Express, a fixture in the kitchen of every flat we rented.
He returned to Seattle a convert and has been an enthusiast ever since. He even travels with his Moka! A few years ago, Van was introduced to another Italian invention, the dosacaffe, a gift from our friends Sandro and Terry who live in Italy.
"Dosa," Terry tells me, "comes from the Italian word 'dosare' which means "to measure out," and the dosacaffe does exactly that. It will dispense the perfect amount of coffee directly into your Moka, no rogue coffee grounds, no messy countertop. Simply place the dosa on top of the base, give the handle a crank, and eccolo!
"You can find dosas everywhere in Italy," Terry explained, "at housewares stores or even large supermarkets." Unfortunately, they're almost impossible to find in the U.S. Almost. Thanks to Vermont's Hero's Welcome, you can buy a cool, stainless steel version, imported from Italy. And if you've become a stovetop espresso aficionado, you're gonna want one!

Hi ,
Thanks for writing such an interesting article. It’s really good to know about the real estate and home decoration and renovation in detail. The most common natural stone for Omaha Countertops in our market place area is granite. Granite is an excellent source of all natural, very durable and aesthetically pleasing finished material. Nature provides over 100 different granite types. Granite is most often imported from Brazil, Italy, India and China. However, many more countries supply granite, including the US. Another excellent source of natural stone is marble. Mr. Granite has installed marble, mostly in bathrooms. You can find marble in many commercial buildings. Natural stones are the architect’s choice of fine finish building material for interior and exterior applications. Examples of exterior applications are the Woodmen Tower, the Joslyn Art Museum, the Union Pacific building, the Court House, etc.
Thanks,
Sarah Clark
