Al Dente Taste Test: Perfect Water
Touted as "the ultimate fluid to empower your body and mind", Perfect Water makes some lofty scientific claims. These include purification, re-mineralization, ionization, oxygenation, and something called "microstructuring". Even their website is mum as to what that means. It reminds me of Brawndo: The Thirst Mutilator from the movie Idiocracy, but without all the over-the-top advertising.
As a straight "taste" test, Perfect Water excels in that it tastes like nothing. In a blind test between this and plain water we couldn't tell the difference. There's a slight mouth feel difference (thicker?) to Perfect Water, but after a few swigs it's not noticeable. There was also the way we felt after drinking it. Everyone got a slight oxygen buzz.
In addition to scientific claims, they make performance claims that can be demonstrated with three simple tests. We conducted two--the flexibility and strength tests. First was a simple toe-touch. We all got a baseline for how far we could touch our toes. After just one ounce of Perfect Water and a few seconds to let the oxygen distribute through our bodies, there was a slight improvement--an inch or two. Not a miracle, but a decent improvement. Second was the tip test, which is explained and shown here. This definitely worked as advertised. I'm not sure how it works, but it's pretty cool.
Bottom Line:
Perfect Water will probably make a good workout drink. Not only is it water, it might have some performance benefits. As with any product that makes performance claims, results will vary. With the extra oxygen, you might feel a little extra energy--I hit the gym for an hour after drinking half a bottle and I definitely felt livelier--a little more flexible, and possibly stronger since the more oxygen you can get to your muscles, the better they perform.
You can buy Perfect Water only from select retailers.

This product absolutely does not work and is a complete scam. For goodness sake's, it's water! Snap back into reality and read a science book. Water and the way its engineered will not change your flexibility or strength, unless there are steroids injected right into it. And regardless of what everyone else says, it IS a pyramid scheme. It fits the pyramid scheme model down to the very last detail. Saying that it's a model that has existed for over 50 years is a load of garbage. Then that would make every pyramid scheme known to existence credible. The point here is that this is a shady pyramid scheme, aimed at marketing non-spectacular products (they may be okay quality) as something almost super natural. Whenever a company isn't willing to spend its own marketing dollars to do legitimate advertisements and instead banks on convincing over excited individuals to market it for them, and then convincing each individual that starts to market their products that they can make loads of money by convincing others and "franchising" and having them work under them... it's a pretty good sign that it's a shady pyramid scheme. Legitimate businesses that so called follow this "multi level" model are completely different. They will sell a good product, have a real advertising budget, and the only thing that looks like a pyramid is that after their product has gained enough credibility, it ends up in different "already established" stores that are willing to carry the item... not like this "new website up in a night garbage". Face it. The model that this entire company actually runs on is that their "so called" network affiliates are actually paying loads of money to the top people in this crap company for them to ensure that they'll get a certain amount of "hits" are advertisement links onto websites. So the top execs in this company aren't worried about really selling their product (that's just a perk), their model is to get enough gullible people excited to start their own websites to try to sell junk so that more websites will show up with advertisement link. So no matter what, the top execs are getting paid for actually providing avenues for advertisements. That's the reality.

I bought two cases of this stuff from a guy at work. I did all of the teat and it did improve my flexability. I spent over $100 on this stuff to because I worked with him, but remember doing double stretches playing football because the initial stretch makes you stretch further with or without water. Having said that, I did the test again the next day without the water and my flexability was increased about the same. I did these tests without water with several friends and their flexabilty increased as well. I drank about 5 bottles a day and cannot say that I noticed any difference.

Should I be Negative like Bill, Chuck or Jeff or others or should I be Positive Like the Marine (by the way I Appriciate your service, Thank You!) Should I list out the facts or should I just shoot off my mouth from the hip like a drunk gunfighter? I just get so amazed that some 50 year old company that is running 50k to 100K a day in national add's to create image awareness, and has won who knows how many awards over the years for positive things they have done or standards they have lived by. Is in over 80 different countries as a business model of our!, (NOTE: OUR Forefathers way of life which means if you live in America you should learn about why the country you live in has the foundations it has.) Since it is a company respected through out the world as debt free with no stock avail for sale and does Billions of $ each year while supporting the likes of YMCA and One by One Charities.
That has affiliations with so many of the places that each and every American does business with.
Like the pyramid supporter "Office Depot", or the lets do business with some little soap company "Circut City". Or the Amway of Tools "Northern tool Supply" (where I buy all my soap measuring devices) or the Amway of fishing "Bass Pro Shops" (Selling Biodegradeable Lures for 9 years now) Must of been one hell of a presentation to get the wool over the eyes of all those corporate lawyers that are on staff to handle the stupid people that challenge Circut City or these other companies way of doing business.
If you dont care for a product or service then don't use it, or support it. If it's no good the free market will flush it in due time. But why we have these stressed out mad at the world, Mad at Amway of all people; People I don't get it.
So what your saying is you are mad at a warehousing distribution company that manufactures products (like 3M or you name it) or mad at a company that looks for failed products that tried to sell in stores but couldn't get off the ground using the store shelves and says to them give us a piece of the pie and we will give you access to our people.
I know it doesn't make much sense to write a post to any of this, But.
I just don't get how the angry ones have so much time to write this stuff down. Is it because they are mad that their welfare check didn't come or did they get fired from another job because of their piss poor attitude Again. Or are they weathly but supporting a competive company and want to run down the competition. Stepping on others to get ahead in life we all like those person. Yea right! Bottom line.
Have some facts! You don't cure cancer with this stuff that is obivious but it does have a nice texture and a great taste and I have had several people find good results from it but it has not worked for everyone! So I tried to find products that would benifit them and tried to live by the golden rule for their sake to make their life better! And maybe just maybe if I can help them live a better life I too can make some income to help my family and to care for my parents and to see my dreams come true instead of live without hope and without a vision for my life. Don't be Negative! You can live free if you choose. Well I have decided to keep my Dream and you can have your piss poor attitude and live however you like but if you ever meet me please shake my hand so I can let you know I care and then I can show you where the spanking line starts so you can freshen up and move forward! Dear Americans,
Perfect Water works! My aunt Helga of Norway was a very unhealthy woman who could barely walk, but after drinking several glasses perfect water was able to jump all the way to southern Africa so that she could sell the water to unsuspecting uneducated children.

Very skeptical about the water. On my chest workout "FLAT BENCH" I decided to give the water a shot. I had been out of the gym for about 2.5 weeks due to sickness and snow so I knew I might be tired and slightly weak. Anyhow I am very strong but knew that I needed to use slightly less weights than norm. On my 4Th set I pushed 365lbs for 5 reps and I was very pooped. I chugged down a bottle (waited 5 minutes)and was able to push 405 for 5 reps. Pushing 5 reps at 405 is not hard for me but considering I had been out of the gym for a while and 365 made me extremely fatigued I should not have had the energy to push anything more weight up and going up in weight should not have happened.

I wanted to take a moment to share the results of what "Perfect Empowered Water" does for me. First of all, I am 32 years young and stand at 6' 0". I weigh in at 165 and run & lift weights on a fairly regular basis. I read about health and the affects of what water does for the body. When I found out that we would have an opportunity to market a product that had found a way to molecularly bond oxygen molecules to sodium chloride and stabalize it in a premium filtered water, I was kinda skeptical as some others might be. However, I am an open minded individual and choose to learn the facts. Well, in April 08 I had an opportunity to take a bottle with me to LA Fitness in Mill Creek, WA. Needless to say I was extremely impressed with the results over the last few months. Without it in my system, I can curl 50lb. dumbells twice. after a couple of ounces and 30 seconds to let my heart pump it through my body, I can immidiately pick them up 9 times and even pick up 60 lbs. 3 times, which I could never do before without doing something ignorant like throw my back into it. Also, I can now grab and hang on a 10 foot basketball rim after drinking a bottle of this stuff. Without it, I can usually get within and inch or two of touching it. Always close, but no cigar. Also, keep in mind all of our bodies are unique and different, so results will be a bit different for us all. One thing that seems to work exactly the same on everyone I've seen use it, is that darn balance trick! Also, I choose not to drink alcohol, but I have a handful of friends who do. They seem to tell me it's the "Perfect" hangover cure. If you have any questions about how and why on anything I just posted, feel free to hit me up on Myspace. Take care and God bless- Jeremy :)

If you want to know how perfect water works, go to the nearest college and ask the Ph.D. holding professor of Anatomy and Physiology. He'll tell you what I'm about to tell you. It doesn't. First of all, "oxygenating" water is a hoax. Extremely difficult. If not done at the nano level, and simply using compressed air, it is immediately released into the atmosphere upon opening of the bottle cap. Even at the nano level, only adds the total amount of oxygen contained in a breath of air. Secondly, water doesn't immediately enter your cells. It's basic digestion 101. First food enters your stomach, where VERY small amounts of water is absorbed, then must be trasported to the small intestine and broken down. A complicated process that takes TIME. Also, oxygen is carried to cells by hemoglobin in red blood cells. They are oxygenated in the lungs and upon leaving are 98.5% oxygenated. PLus there's already gas in the blood that excludes the addition of any more. The ONLY way to increase your oxygen levels is in a hyperbaric chamber that changes the atmospheric pressure.
Ask your IBO about aquaporins. Discovered in 1992 they're the protein inbedded in your cell membrane that is responsible for transporting water into the cell. It only does this 1 molecule at a time, that is, the water molecule breaks the bond with adjecent molecules to enter. It can't be bound to anything else.
Basically oxygenated water is a placebo. If you're the type of person to believe something you're told, then, there's a chance, just like the placebo effect, that it will help you. But not because of any science.
The other tests, the bending, strength test that IBO's show everyone, is just common sense. you stretch once you loosen those muscles so the next time you can stretch a little further. The strength test is just psychology.
Long story short, Perfect Water is just salesman trying to gain a niche in the highly competitive water market, which is growing rapidly due to people turning from unhealthy products to healthier ones. I do NOT like that Perfect Water is playing upon the public's ignorance of how digestion and physiology work. Just another marketing scheme for the dumb downed herd of the american public to follow.
P.S. Cleaning the water of pollutants, etc. is great. Not arguing that. Just saying the water does not convey any great advantages as far as strength, oxygen, etc. Also the Journal of American Medical Association posted tests done that show oxygenated water confers NO benefits to athletes who use it prior/post workout.

Mhmm, a pyramid scam that companies such as Barnes and Noble, Dell, Joann fabrics, Pac Sun, and many other companies partner with to jeopardize their reputation. Yuppers.

Before I tried this water, I was convinced it was "snake oil." After drinking about an ounce of water, I saw small improvement with the flexibility tests, and a lot of improvement with the tip test. FYI, I did the tip test twice before drinking any water and could not stand, but was considerably stronger on the third try, after drinking the water. I also experienced a marked, daylong increase in energy that I doubt was from a placebo effect.
I'm going to drink the water for about a week, and I'll post an update.

I am an Amway Global IBO. However, I have been very skeptical up to this point. A few sips of water that will have such a dramatic effect on your body. Come on! It's just water, right? I tried all three tests, but they did not yield much for me (I am quite flexible already). I could already touch the ground, and the windmill test did not reveal anymore flexibility for me. The thing I did notice I had a general overall feeling of wellbeing after drinking the water. I am a bit asthmatic and it did help my breathing a bit. I guess it's increased oxygenation during hydration (greater hydration is always good for asthmatics). Reading all of the comments here have convinced me that there is more to this than I thought. I think I will drink more now, and perhaps I will sell a few bottles as well. And to the Amway Global/Quixtar naysayers who feel that the organization is a pyramid--wake up. This is the 21st Century. The information age. Alticor, the parent company of Quixtar and Amway have been around for 50 years and are proven not to be an illegal pyramid. I am amazed that there are still people out there who are really that misinformed. Where have you been living? On the moon? It is ok to have an opinion no matter how ignorant it may be, but to write it on a blog and display your ignorance to the world? There's no excuse for that. I bet you believe that chocolate milk comes from brown cows too?

I can speak on behalf of PERFECT WATER. I am a Personal Trainer, and for me, anything that helps my workouts/ my clients workouts, I'm all over it! This stuff stands firm with it's claims, and I challenge EVERYONE to try it for yourselves. It really is remarkable, infact, I've already been drinking it regularly for 2 months now.

This water is purely a placebo effect. Have someone try it and don't tell them what it is just put it in a regular bottle. There not going to say they feel anything at all from drinking it.
Cordy on May 09, 2009 at 06:39 PM
I did the tests today and didn't see and measurable difference in any of them. Some questions:
What exactly is microstructuring? Is this a valid scientific process? Why does water need to be restructured? Our bodies are accustomed to it as it is. Is this a permanent restructuring or do the water molecules return to their natural state after a period of time or if exposed to heat, light, etc.?
The tests:
Are there any proper scientific tests published?
Aren't people looking for a better result after they drink this water? So perceived improvement might be subconscious?
The people who are testing you are the very ones trying to sell you the water, so of course they will oooh and ahh over your subjective 'improvement'
Besides, you will almost always stretch a little bit more the second time you stretch a muscle. Physiology.
HOw does the production of this water affect the environment?
Basically I'm looking for data to support this product rather than words. And who are the scientists working on this?
peace

He is a smart atletic man, me on the other hand, have suspions on just about everything and I am trying to read, read and research to find more about this product to see if this is something I too can become excited about. He wants me to attend with him some siminar,(now I am becoming even more suspions)I have a few medical problems primarily a aching back from a old injury and arthritis. It will be interesting to see if I feel any different from trying out this product.

This is a joke of a review. Water doesn't help you stretch. Stretching helps you stretch.
Perfect Water should land its proprietors in FDA jail.
Maybe you have to be in Amway in order to believe in such bull.

I am a sufferer of migraines and since I've been drinking Perfect Water, I no longer have to take medication. The water does not take the headache away completely but it does make it so I can function without medications that would otherwise knock me out for the count. Every product will have different effects on different people because our bodies are all different. As far as Amway being a pyramid, pyramids are illegal. In this failing economy, last year, Amway gained 15% along with Amazon.com. The only other company to surpass that gain is Apple with 17%. If this was a pyramid, I don't think it would be able to compete with todays economy.
