What to Cook for The Big Game: French Onion Dip

http://g-ec2.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/kitchen/blog/frenchonion.jpgWhat good is watching a football game without onion dip? Pointless, I say. This is simple to make, so when it dissappears during the first quarter (and it will), you can whip up another batch during a commercial break.

Ingredients
1 envelope Lipton onion soup mix
8 ounces cream cheese
1 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon fresh parsley and/or chives, chopped
1 teaspoon garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Directions
1. Put all of the ingredients in a food processor. Process on high for 10 seconds. Stir slightly (making sure to get everything off the sides). Process for another 5 to 10 seconds until completely combined.
2. Spatula the dip into a bowl, cover, and refrigerate up to an hour (or for you impatient types, stick it in the freezer for about ten minutes). Serves 6 to 8 people.

What to cook for the super bowl? How about something that you can eat before one-half hour is up (it takes less than 1/2 hour) and everyone will love you. It is my broccoli, chicken and linquini dinner. It is so simple you won't miss any part of the game. Put your pot of salted water on to boil. Take 1 package of frozen broccoli (florets)- cut 2 slits in it and microwave for 12 minutes - done! 6-7 chicken tenders (thawed) place them flat on a dish, garlic salt/black pepper/and dried parsley them then cover with saran wrap- cook 6 minutes on one side, then turn over do same thing again. Done! By this time your linguini (or any type of pasta) is in the pot cooking about to take out. Add pasta, chicken (after you shred it with two forks - kind of pull it apart with the forks) and broccoli to your large pasta bowl. Add more garlic salt & pepper & parmesan cheese to flavor it, (for 1 lb linguini add 1/2 cup of olive oil). Mix together and it is delicious..it is even delicious cold! You can have that cooked before the game and everyone will be glad to help themselves to this wonderful easy dish. (They will think you slaved in your kitchen all day) Now that is what I call a delicious meal for a game! That is what we are having! (Go to my website: grandmaaggies.com; it is in my cookbook)
